Cynthia Moorer currently serves as President of The National Alliance of Mental Illness in DeKalb county. For the past 3 years, she has chaired the Annual Candlelight Vigil held in DeKalb Co, as well as other organized community events that raised awareness and advocacy for mental health. Cynthia currently teaches one of Nami’s Signature Programs Family to Family. Cynthia passion for Mental Health, Early intervention, Education and Advocacy stems from her young adult son currently living with a mental condition. She offers Vison, Leadership and forward thinking. She believes building Community based partnerships is key to effectively identifying, treatment and recovery and alternative solutions to the status quo. While learning and working with the community, her ultimate goal is to effect policy change. These policy changes will be guided by evidence based best practices that have proven to be successful. Cynthia has practiced as a Nurse for 30 years. She has a love for helping people especially those who are underserved. She will continue to be a leader in DeKalb county.
